This draft new edition of the National Standard of Canada contains many improvements related to new technology, updated reference documents, and clarification of criteria appearing in the current (2015) edition. Following are highlights of the specific additions and changes proposed:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. new provisions for SCUBA diving \u2013 combining \u201crestricted\u201d and \u201cunrestricted\u201d categories into one \u201coccupational SCUBA\u201d category;<\/li>\n
  2. clarification of crew size requirements for SCUBA diving, including a new requirement to conduct a dive site risk assessment in order to determine appropriate crew size (Clause 7.5);<\/li>\n
  3. incorporation of updated crew size requirements for surface-supplied diving (Clause 8.2) as published in the 2018 Amendment to Z275.2-15;<\/li>\n
  4. expanded references to IMCA guidelines for offshore diving (Clauses 9.2 and 9.3);<\/li>\n
  5. clarification of requirements for four categories of contaminated diving (Clause 11 and Table 8);<\/li>\n
  6. provision of further guidance on NITROX diving, along with new definitions (Clause 12); and<\/li>\n
  7. addition of a new Annex (K) on \u201cdiver rescue methods\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note: While CSA Z275.2 is applicable to occupational diving operations conducted in all bodies of water and water systems, for offshore diving activities, it has been harmonized with regulations, standards, guidelines, and codes developed by the Canadian Oil and Gas Lands Administration (COGLA), the Oil and Gas Producers (OGP), the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA), and NORSOK.<\/p>\n
